Lower East Side
“Loisada” as it is now intimately known by its residents is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city. It has traditionally been known as a working class and immigrant community and is especially unique for its vast diversity. Like many neighborhoods throughout all boroughs of the city it has seen a recent gentrification through the mid to late 2000s. For an urban neighborhood, LES has quite a few green spaces scattered throughout the neighborhood, as well as popular music venues and top rated bars and restaurants. LES is also home to several contemporary art galleries.
