Downtown Brooklyn
Downtown Brooklyn is New York City’s 3rd largest commercial district. It is the site of Kings County Court House, Brooklyn Borough Hall, and several other civic buildings. Some of the most recognized attractions in the area are The Brooklyn Academy of Music, New York Transit Museum, and the new Barclays center, which is home to the Brooklyn Nets. Cadman Plaza Park, which was recently renovated, provides a ten-acre green space to the neighborhood. Since the 2004 rezoning of Downtown Brooklyn, the neighborhood has seen a boom in residential property in an area that was once almost exclusively known for its commercial properties, especially the Williamsburgh Savings Bank.
